We all know the Wednesday before Thanksgiving is the biggest travel day of the year (cue cringing flashbacks of red brake lights on the 10, drawn out delays and overbooked flights, and, ultimately, not getting where you need to go), but enter Grandesign and our client Atom Tickets, a new movie-ticketing app that puts Fandango to shame.
With our airport activation expertise and great minds, Grandesign made the "Atom Fly-In Theater" a spectacular reality in JFK Airport's Terminal 4.
Holiday favorites Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and Miracle on 34th Street streamed all day along with an extensive selection of complimentary movie theater candy and freshly made popcorn.
A month and a half before the activation took place, Grandesign met with Atom Tickets in a Malibu coffee shop to discuss if such an activation was possible. Not only was it possible, it was within budget! But airport permitting is no joke and things needs to get rolling right away
After several weeks of TSA/airline approvals, designing, and planning, the idea was brought life on 11/22. Over 20+ hours of prep, and overnight install went into making this happen; with the East Coast team heading up the build and day of logistics.
THE OCULUS MALL
The event was such a huge success, Atom Tickets decided to bring the theater to the Oculus Mall (One World Trade Center) in December during the height of holiday shopping!
